The photo of the snowy egret (Thoughtful Reflections) shown on the cover was taken by local nature and wildlife photographer Lucy Rosen. “On this day, the snowy egret flew in and landed about two feet behind the begining of the island of grass,” Rosen said. “She stayed for a few moments and then walked to the island and stayed. I watched this unfold and thought ‘Please, please, please stay long enough right there until the ripples stop.’ I guess she heard me.”
